My german shep. follows me from room to room?

axel is one year old and follows me from room to room,we live in a 5th wheel for we travel a lot and he can see me in every room just by being on the Living room. is this a good thing or could it lead to problems he seems to do well when he is left alone. whats up with him following me everywhere?
