Would religious profiling be more unconstitutional than racial profiling?

I've heard arguments in favour of profiling Muslims (both American and foreign visitors), but it's always been a tricky issue due to the arguments' reliance on race as a means of profiling, when it is evident that there is no single race of Muslims. Would profiling Muslims based on religion be deemed unconstitutional?
